The following is an evaluation by D Apollo S (David Sarrasin) of The Soviet Machine. It measures their roster strength, chemistry, and overall ability as a team.
The Soviet Machine began in Fall League 2009 with a more than dissapointing season, going 2-6. They came back with a new line up this season and they have been dominating their division. The only tests they have left are -1 Indian and Smiley Central.
Roster Strength – So let’s take a look at Soviet’s line up: RDG NHL, KoG Tmac, XiXMrSpadeXiX, TimeGnome, xixmrclubxix, bloodysmiles87 and Nova74o. One of the most impressive aspects of this roster is TimeGnome. A former member of Harmful if Swallowed from SL09, he hadn’t played in a couple seasons, but then joined The Soviets. Through out his career, he has 79 goals scored in 12 games, which gives an average of 6.6 Scores a game, which is probably among some of the best averages in history of Grifball. All of their players have played around 10 games each (some have played more than that, others have played less) and for having such few games played, they have pretty good stats. All in all, pretty solid team.
Final Evaluation: 9 out of 10
Team Chemistry – They started this season with a bang, going 5-0 with 42 GF and 3 GA. The only teams they have not faced yet are -1 Indian and Smiley Central, which many believe are the biggest competition this team has. None of these three teams have faced off yet, so nobody really knows who will win this division. Looking at Soviets roster, I think that they might have a slight egde in the fight for division 7.
Final Evaluation: 8.5 out of 10
Overall Evaluation : 18.5 out of 20
Soviet Machine has a strong line up that many teams will underestimate. This team will finish the season at 9-1, finishing first in their division. Come Playoffs, they will shock many teams as they will advance to the Final Four.
